Growing Demand for Mobile UC
As workers continue to be more connected, UC needs to be mobilized and infused with context such as presence and location information – anywhere and anytime. The ShoreTel Mobility solution provides the unified communications infrastructure to seamlessly extend a user’s desk phone and laptop and expands the functionality to the devices that enterprise workers are increasingly relying on as their primary communications device – their smartphone.
ShoreTel Mobility empowers organizations to create a more responsive and accessible workforce by extending deskphone and UC capabilities to mobile devices, enabling enterprises to reduce their overall telecom costs, by eliminating international roaming and direct dial costs on mobile devices, as well as rightsizing the number of business phones an organization purchases and maintains.
By offering a single mobility solution that interoperates with the industry’s broadest range of PBX and UC systems, including those from Cisco, Avaya, Alcatel-Lucent and ShoreTel, as well as UC systems such as Microsoft OCS 2007, ShoreTel provides customers maximum flexibility and choice, a unified application to manage voice, UC and security, and consistent look, feel and functionality across platforms and devices. This open approach ensures organizations and end users can pick the right ways to stay connected.
“With the growing virtual workplace, now more than ever employees rely on mobile technology to stay connected,” said Imran Khan, Vice President, Network Consulting at HP. “By collaborating with ShoreTel, customers are empowered to extend desk phone and UC capabilities to their mobile devices, allowing them to easily share information, increase responsiveness and improve productivity, all while reducing overall telecom costs.”
